Once 3G becomes ubiquitous, what’s to stop two people from calling each other using VoIP on their smart phones (which are actually mini-handheld computers) and bypassing the mobile operator’s voice networks?The days of high rates for phone calls are certainly numbered. It’s just a matter of time before VoIP becomes so easy to use and so commonplace that people might find no need to have normal telephone lines anymore.
