Time dotCom Bhd is looking at several options it could take if it fails to secure a third generation (3G) spectrum on tender by the government.
Tjandra Kartika, telco analyst with GK Goh in Singapore concurs. “We’re seeing declining revenues in fixed networks going forward and there are also concerns in broadband deployment.”
Broadband, and broadband data, worldwide has not fared as well as expected, as signalled by the failure of KPNQwest in Europe among other smaller players. “It just doesn’t seem to be making enough money to repay the expenditure put in,” notes an industry observer.
